Beginner Boat Diving
This option is for people who want to start their diving experience by heading out to the dive site by boat. The meeting takes place in Puerto Colón, and then the boat heads to one of the dive spots, most often around Spaghetti Beach or La Caleta.
Underwater, you can see fish, volcanic rock formations and underwater landscapes that feel completely different compared to shore diving. It’s a great option for anyone who wants to experience a more “ocean-style” version of beginner diving right from the start.
Just like with shore diving, no licence or previous experience is required. First there is a short briefing, then equipment preparation and finally entering the water together with the instructor. You can choose a standard beginner dive or the DSD program, which includes additional theory and a certificate after completing the program.

Transport

Practical information
• minimum participant age is 8 years
• the full activity usually lasts around 2.5–3 hours
• underwater time depends on the selected option

• personal belongings can be left at the dive base
• photos and videos are available for an additional fee of 25 €
• pregnant women cannot participate in diving activities
• bookings cannot be cancelled within 24 hours before the activity

1. How does the booking process work?
Booking is done online. After completing the payment, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details regarding the activity.
2. Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, but no later than 24 hours before the activity starts.
3. Can I change the date?
In most cases, changing the date is possible after prior contact.
4. Will I receive an electronic ticket?
Yes. You only need to show the confirmation on your phone.
5. Is the activity safe?
Yes. The activity is conducted by an instructor, in small groups and after a safety briefing.
6. Do I need previous experience?
No. This activity is designed for beginners.
7. Is hotel transfer available?
Yes, transfer is available from the southern part of the island.
8. What happens in case of bad weather?
In case of unsuitable weather conditions, it is possible to reschedule the activity or receive a refund.
9. What is the difference between a regular beginner dive and DSD?
DSD includes additional theory, basic underwater exercises and a certificate after completing the program.
10. Is this dive different from the beach diving version?
Yes. In this version, you go by boat to the dive site, so the experience starts differently from the beach option.
