Beginner Shore Diving

This is a great option for a first dive if you want to start calmly, without going out by boat and without any previous experience. Everything takes place from the shore, in an area known as Stingray Bay. It is one of the most interesting beginner diving spots in southern Tenerife because there is truly a lot to see underwater.

The seabed here is formed by volcanic reefs, different species of fish swim between the rocks, and stingrays appear very often. You may also see turtles, crabs, moray eels, octopuses, cuttlefish and other marine life. That is exactly why so many people choose this location for their first diving experience.

The whole program starts with a briefing, followed by equipment preparation and entering the water together with the instructor. Groups are small, so everything is calm and well organized. You can choose a standard beginner dive or the DSD program, which includes additional theory and a certificate after completing the program.

Transport

Practical information

• minimum participant age is 8 years
• the full activity usually lasts around 2.5–3 hours
• underwater time depends on the selected option: 20 or 40 minutes
• the start time is confirmed after booking and may change depending on weather and group size
• personal belongings can be left at the dive base
• photos and videos are available for an additional fee of 25 €
• pregnant women cannot participate in diving activities
• people with asthma, epilepsy, heart conditions or other serious medical issues should consult a doctor beforehand
• bookings cannot be cancelled within 24 hours before the activity

1. How does the booking process work?

Booking is made online. After payment, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details about the activity.

2. Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, but no later than 24 hours before the activity starts.

3. Can I change the date?

In most cases, changing the date is possible after prior contact.

4. Will I receive an electronic ticket?

Yes. Simply show the confirmation on your phone.

5. Is the activity safe?

Yes. The activity is conducted by an instructor, in small groups and after prior training.

6. Do I need previous experience?

No. This activity is designed for beginners.

7. Is hotel transfer available?

Transfer is available from the southern part of the island.

8. What happens in case of bad weather?

In case of unsuitable weather conditions, it is possible to change the date or receive a refund.

9. What is the difference between a regular beginner dive and DSD?

DSD includes additional theory, basic underwater exercises and a certificate after completing the program.
