Astronomical Observations
The Canary Islands offer excellent conditions for observing the night sky. Low light pollution, high altitude and wide observation possibilities make this a perfect place to experience the Universe much closer than usual.
During these small-group astronomy sessions in Polish, you can look through a professional telescope at the Moon, planets and selected deep-sky objects. Depending on the conditions, these may include nebulae, galaxies or globular clusters. It is a great option for people who are simply curious about the sky and want to experience something different from a typical evening on the island.
The experience is not limited to just looking through the telescope. During the session, there is also an explanation of what can be seen in the sky, how to recognise selected objects and why the conditions for astronomical observations are so good here. A laser pointer is also used to help participants navigate the night sky more easily. Everything takes place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, without a formal structure. For children, there are also simple educational activities and astronomy-related games.
The observations usually last up to around 2 hours, although with greater interest, conversations about the sky often continue a little longer. The meetings take place at an altitude of over 1000 metres above sea level, so even in summer it is worth bringing warmer clothing — temperatures can drop noticeably after sunset.
The easiest way to reach the location is by your own car, although transport can also be arranged in a limited capacity. If you need this option, it is best to mention it in advance during the booking process.
